Why Education?

Education is one of the most powerful tools for empowering individuals and transforming communities, especially in rural and marginalized areas. In rural settings like East and West Champaran, access to quality education is often limited due to factors such as poverty, lack of infrastructure, social norms, and gender discrimination. By focusing on education, Kashish aims to break the cycle of poverty, promote equal opportunities, and empower individuals, particularly girls and women, to improve their lives and the lives of their families.

What We Do:

Kashish is deeply committed to improving education and learning opportunities for underprivileged communities. Our approach is holistic, addressing both the access to education and the quality of education provided.

  1. Promotion of Primary Education:

    • Kashish works to increase access to education for children, especially girl children. We provide support for school fees, uniforms, and books to ensure children can attend school regularly and without the barriers of poverty.
    • The organization works closely with local schools to ensure that children in the most marginalized areas receive basic education.
  2. Mid-Day Meals and School Supplies:

    • In collaboration with local schools, Kashish provides mid-day meals to ensure that children have proper nutrition, which directly impacts their learning abilities and health.
    • We also distribute uniforms, stationery, and educational materials to make school more accessible and engaging for students.
  3. Vocational Education and Skill Development:

    • Kashish also emphasizes vocational training for youth and women, equipping them with practical skills that enhance employability and entrepreneurship. This includes programs like embroidery, stitching, and other marketable skills.
    • We conduct skill development programs to provide youth with technical skills and job-ready training, helping them enter the workforce with confidence.
  4. Infrastructure Support:

    • We provide infrastructure support to schools, including the donation of desks and benches for students and the renovation of classrooms. This ensures that schools are well-equipped for effective learning.
    • For example, Kashish supported the renovation of the computer lab at Rammohun Roy Seminary in Patna, providing students with access to modern education tools.
  5. Awareness Campaigns on Education:

    • Community awareness campaigns are run to educate families about the importance of sending children, especially girls, to school. These campaigns focus on overcoming barriers such as child labor, early marriage, and gender-based discrimination that often prevent children, particularly girls, from receiving an education.
    • In rural areas, we work on changing social attitudes and cultural norms that might hinder the education of girls and women.

Our Focus

Access to Education for All
  • Ensuring that every child, regardless of their economic background, has access to basic education.
  • Breaking down the barriers of poverty, gender, disability, and social status that prevent children from attending school.
Gender Equality in Education

We emphasize girls’ education, understanding that empowering girls through education is key to breaking the cycle of poverty and fostering social change.

Vocational Training for Youth and Women
  • Providing practical skills that can lead to employment or entrepreneurship, especially for young people and women in rural areas.
  • Offering training in marketable skills such as embroidery, sewing, computer literacy, and more.
Improving Quality of Education

Not only ensuring access to education, but also improving the quality of education through teacher training, better infrastructure, and learning materials.

Our Impact

Increased School Enrollment
    • Our initiatives have led to an increase in school enrollment rates, particularly for girls. Families are more likely to send their children to school, especially girls, due to our financial and infrastructure support.

The provision of desks, benches, and learning materials has created more conducive learning environments for students, increasing their focus and engagement in school.

Our vocational training programs have equipped women and youth with skills, making them more self-reliant and employable in local markets, thus helping them to support themselves and their families financially.

Through community awareness programs, we have increased awareness about the importance of education, especially for girl children, reducing child labor and early marriage in the targeted communities.

The renovation of classrooms and setting up of computer labs has ensured that children in these areas receive education with better facilities, enhancing their overall learning experience.
